Courtney and Micah Wilkinson

Because of Micah's death, five others have been given another opportunity of life here on earth. Because of Jesus Christ's love and death, everyone has an opportunity of eternal life in heaven with Him.

The following information was received from the Nebraska Organ Retrieval System:

Micah's heart was transplanted into a 16 year old boy who was born with a single lower chamber of his heart, rather than the normal two chambers. He required three previous surgeries in order to prolong the eventuality of a transplant and was listed over one year ago. His condition had worsened severely in the six weeks prior to his transplant. Since his transplant, he has done very well. This young man lives with his parents and told the nurses he plans to water-ski this summer.

Micah's pancreas was transplanted into, and is successfully functioning, in a 36 year old woman with severe diabetes who used insulin twice a day for her entire life. She is single and has two brothers. She has been waiting for a transplant since August of 1998 and can now look forward to a life free of the restrictions and often devastating effects of diabetes. This woman has a deep spiritual faith which has enabled her to endure many medical hardships.

Micah's liver was transplanted into a 23 year old woman who experienced the early signs of liver failure over a year ago. She was first listed for a transplant in September, 1998. This young lady is single and works as a housekeeper when her strength permits. Her transplant was a complete success and she should be returning home shortly. Her hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, walking, horseback riding and listening to rhythm and blues music.

One of Micah's kidneys went to a 14 year old girl. This was her second transplant and she has had immediate kidney function. She was born with a congenital kidney disease. When her health has permitted, she attends school. Her hobbies include reading and visiting with her friends. Her doctors anticipate a complete recovery and full kidney function.

Micah's other kidney was received by a 28 year old gentleman. This was his first transplant after waiting for four years. He was suffering from a complicated obstructive disorder. He is engaged to be married, enjoys fishing, golfing, hunting and dirt bike riding. His kidney failure required him to receive dialysis treatments frequently during the last two years. He and his fiancé are overjoyed with his progress and are now planning a much improved future together. He loves to hunt and play golf.

Our prayer is that they will also accept Jesus Christ as their Savior just as Micah and Courtney did.

You can know Courtney's and Micah's Savior, Jesus, too.
